We'll start with why you won't like me and move on to a more neutral tone...

I consider myself a pompous, sarcastic bitch. Let me explain. I often think that I really thoroughly enjoy something before I fully realize what it is. Sometimes that leads to me lecturing on how great the thing is, though I don't really have any info on it, i just find it fairly enjoyable (pompous). I also like to say really mean and cruel things, but I don't really mean them (sarcastic), and I try to laugh and make it sound like the joke it is...but it's still really offensive sometimes (bitch).

I'm also rather narcissistic, but also deeply insecure. I think the two feed off eachother rather than contradict themselves.

I laugh a lot and try to make light of things because I like to see other people happy. Sadly, this is just a selfish way to trick myself because when I'm in a social group of happy people, I too absorb the atmosphere and appear to be quite believably happy, even to myself.

I can fall deeply in love with topics of research and (though quite rarely) people, but I'm also very capable of fleeting, superficial bursts of interest in obscure and specific areas, such as a subgenre of music or a particular author.

Although I hate to believe in any sort of determinism, I do...therefore I can say, (with some difficulty) that I am very Libran in my need for balance, equality and justice. I'm also becoming converted to the sociological idea that there is no true individuality without being completely solitary...but then you aren't being really human (or really true to yourself) because, at last, the human is a social creature.

Believe me, I counter myself on everything. You'll find that I'm rather annoying person to try to sell ideas to...except sometimes when I'm in the mood to listen.

Luckily, I'm taking a variety of enlightening courses this year at U of T...so I may tire of this banter and become a normal human being outside of my studies...OR to your general dismay, plunge so deeply into my studies that you'll feel as though you're getting the third degree in every conversation. :D We'll see how it goes.

Although I don't actively participate in all of these things, (which are listed in no particular order, by the way) I wish I had the time and energy for them! I'm primarily interested in deep or unusual conversation, volunteering, computer programing, videogames, criticizing the media, discussing politics, religion, philosophy, spirituality, world cultures, cooking, baking, gardening, astronomy, astrology, biology and art in all its forms [painting, sculpture, photography, film, animation, webdesign, digital art, comics, literature, poetry, music (listening and writing), dance, fashion et al]. You name it... If I don't have an interest, surely I have an opinion. Basically, if it doesn't involve much manual labour or sunlight, I dig it like a shallow grave. Want more? ASK.

Here's a motto I recently came up with:
Live your life as though it's a story you're writing. If it's a good read, it's a good life.

(...but not necessarily "fundamentally good" or virtuous, mainly just entertaining and mostly enjoyable for you.)

I'd prefer it if you didn't turn your life into a Soap opera type saga or harlequin romance, but feel free if it suits you. I'd also stay away from the true crime and horror genres, though they can be fun...sci fi is great, if you can manage, and children's literature is wonderful...take your pick, there's a world of themes to choose from!
